Lynda Bell
President, Florida Right to Life
Lynda Bell has been married to her husband, Mark, for forty-one years and resides in Tallahassee, Florida. Together, they co-teach adult Sunday school. She is the mother of three married daughters and the proud grandmother of twelve grandchildren, ranging in age from eight to twenty-eight.
Ms. Bell serves as President of Florida Right to Life, representing the statewide organization as a delegate to the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) Board of Directors, where she also serves as Chair of the Board. In her role as president, she actively lobbies at the Florida State Capitol in support of pro-life legislation and policy initiatives. As the organization’s statewide spokesperson, she has significantly expanded Florida Right to Life’s visibility across state and national television, radio, print, and social media. Her work includes educating the public and engaging in debate on a wide range of pro-life issues, including abortion, embryonic stem-cell research, euthanasia, assisted suicide, ultrasound legislation, parental rights and notification, the Choose Life license plate program, and partial-birth abortion.
In 2024, Ms. Bell spearheaded the formation of a Political Action Committee to oppose Amendment 4. The effort proved highly successful, uniting twenty-two pro-family grassroots organizations and establishing a model that has since been replicated in other states. This coordinated campaign played a pivotal role in defeating Amendment 4.
Ms. Bell was ranked twenty-fifth on the list of Florida’s 100 Most Powerful Women. Her public service includes six years on the Florida Communities Trust, appointed by then-Governor Rick Scott. She also served as a Miami-Dade County Commissioner, including as Vice Chair, and previously held the office of Mayor of Homestead, becoming the first and only woman to serve as mayor in the city’s more than 110-year history.
